String Family
This is the string family. The string instruments all have strings! The strings vibrate to make sound, by being plucked with fingers or played with a bow. In music, the word pitch means how high or low a sound is. The longer the string, the lower the pitch! The shorter the string is, the higher the pitch.

Listen to the example below of the strings playing.
